Policies
Last updated: October 22, 2026. These policies cover the Wrestling Showdown game (wrestlingshowdown.com/play), the Wrestling Showdown website (wrestlingshowdown.com) and the Melting Brain Studios website (meltingbrainstudios.com). Wrestling Showdown is made by MeltingBrainStudios LLC in collaboration with KerltLabs LLC. MeltingBrainStudios LLC runs the game and the websites and answers every privacy question, including questions from parents.
Contact us: MeltingBrainStudios LLC, 59 Chadwick Dr, Greencastle, PA 17225, USA. Phone: 717-446-6454. Email: meltingbrainstudios@gmail.com, or use our Contact us page (parents: pick "Parents and guardians").
Privacy Policy
What we collect
- Your account: email address, username, user ID, the age you chose when you signed up, and password. Passwords are stored by our database provider in hashed form; we never see them.
- Your game settings and progress: colour, favourite wrestler, language, animation speed, saved decks, friends, players you blocked, online matches and moves, and your wins and losses.
- Quick Chat: which pre-written phrase was sent in an online match, and when. There is no typed chat, so players can't share personal information through it.
- Reports: when you report a player, who you reported, the reason you picked and the match, if any. The player is not told who reported them.
- Contact us messages: when you use the Contact us form, your first and last name, email address, the reason you picked and your message. You don't need an account to write to us.
- Security records: IP addresses of wrong sign-in, sign-up code and room code attempts, and of Contact us messages, kept for a short time to stop people guessing or flooding us.
- Proof of agreement: the date you ticked "I agree to the Terms and the Privacy Policy".
Except what you choose to write in the Contact us form, we do not collect your real name, address, date of birth, phone number or payment details, and we do not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools.
Why we use it
Only to run the game: to sign you in, save your settings and decks, play online matches, show your friends and record, keep the game fair and safe (reports and blocks), and email you a password reset link when you ask for one.
What other players see
Only your username, colour, favourite wrestler, language and game settings (such as animation speed), and, to your friends, your online wins and losses. Your email, user ID and age are never shown to other players.
Who else handles it
- Supabase stores the accounts and game data and sends password reset emails.
- Vercel hosts the websites.
- Resend delivers Contact us messages to the email inbox of MeltingBrainStudios LLC. We don't store them anywhere else.
- Kids Web Services (Epic Games) checks that a parent is an adult and records their permission (see Children and parents). It receives the parent's email address, language and country. The parent's verification details (for example a card or ID) go only to Kids Web Services, never to us.
- Google Fonts and jsDelivr deliver fonts and code files. Your browser contacts them, so they see your IP address.
- Instagram (Meta) shows our latest post on meltingbrainstudios.com, only after you choose to load it.
We do not sell or rent your information to anyone.
Emails
We only send emails you ask for (password reset links). We send no newsletters or marketing. If that ever changes, every marketing email will have an unsubscribe link.
Children
Players under 13 can only have an account with a parent's permission. See Children and parents.
Keeping, seeing and deleting your data
We keep your account until you delete it. You can delete your account and its data at any time in Account settings (Delete my account), or by emailing us. Deleting removes your login, profile, decks, friends, blocks, wins and losses and your online matches; reports about you go too, and reports you made stay without your name. You can also email us to ask for a copy of your data or to correct it.
How long we keep other things: online matches and their Quick Chat stay with your account until it is deleted; security records of wrong attempts are deleted within 20 minutes; a parent's email address waiting for permission is deleted after 14 days if the parent doesn't answer; Contact us messages stay in our email inboxes only as long as we need to answer them, and you can ask us to delete yours.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and protected by access rules in our database, so players can only read what they are allowed to.
Children and parents
This section explains how Wrestling Showdown treats players under 13, as required by the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar laws in other countries.
Right now: players under 13 can't make an account yet. When the parent check below is switched on, they will be able to make a restricted account with a parent's permission. If you believe a child under 13 has an account without a parent's permission, email us and we will delete it.
How a parent gives permission
- At sign-up every player picks their age. A player under 13 is asked only for a parent's email address. Nothing else is collected before the parent answers.
- We send the parent's email address, language and country to Kids Web Services (Epic Games), which emails the parent, tells them what we collect and why, and checks that they are an adult.
- The account is made only after the parent agrees. If the parent doesn't answer within 14 days, we delete their email address.
What we collect from a child
Only what the game needs: the login details, the age picked at sign-up, game settings, decks, friends, blocks, online matches and Quick Chat phrases, wins and losses, and the parent's email address. Nothing else from the Privacy Policy list is collected beyond that. Children are asked not to use the Contact us form and to have a parent write instead; if a child writes to us anyway, we use their email address only to answer them once (or to reach their parent) and then delete the message. We never ask a child for more information than they need to play.
A restricted account
- The child doesn't choose a username. The game gives them a random one, so their name is never shown to other players. A parent can allow a username of the child's choice.
- Chat is Quick Chat only: pre-written phrases, during online matches. Children can't type messages to anyone.
- Friends can be added only by their exact user ID, so strangers can't search for a child.
- Children can report and block any player, like every other player.
- No ads, no tracking, and nothing is sold to anyone.
Parents' rights
A parent can at any time, free of charge:
- see the information we hold about their child;
- ask us to correct it or delete it, with the whole account;
- take back their permission, which stops any further collection and deletes the account.
Email meltingbrainstudios@gmail.com from the parent email address we have on file, or use the contact details at the top of this page. We will answer as soon as we can. We may ask for a few details first to make sure the request comes from the child's parent.
Terms and Conditions
By creating an account or playing, you agree to these terms.
- Who can play: you must be 13 or older, or have a parent's permission (see Children and parents). During the beta, you need an invite code to sign up.
- Your account: keep your password private; you are responsible for what happens on your account. One person per account.
- Fair play: no cheating, bots, exploiting bugs, harassing other players, or offensive usernames. We may suspend or delete accounts that break these rules.
- The game: Wrestling Showdown is in beta. Features, cards and rules may change, and the game may be unavailable at times.
- Our content: the game, card art, logos and text belong to MeltingBrainStudios LLC or the artists who licensed them to us. You may not copy or sell them.
- No guarantees: the game is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, MeltingBrainStudios LLC is not liable for lost progress or indirect damages.
- Law: these terms are governed by the laws of Pennsylvania, USA.
- Changes: we may update these terms and will change the date at the top when we do.
Refund Policy
The online game is currently a free beta: nothing is sold online yet. This policy will be updated before any paid game access starts.
Physical card games
- Damaged or wrong items: email us within 3 days of your order arrival with details and a photo, and we will replace or refund them.
- Opened card packs can't be returned unless they are faulty.
Paid game access (when it starts)
[To be written before paid access launches: how refunds work for digital purchases, and the time limit.]
To ask for a refund, email meltingbrainstudios@gmail.com.
Cookie Policy
Our websites do not set advertising or tracking cookies. The game stores a few things in your browser (local storage) that it needs to work:
- Your sign-in, so you stay logged in (from Supabase).
- Your language, colour and last picked deck.
- A Vs CPU match or tutorial you haven't finished, so a reload carries on where you were.
- An ID for the current tab, so the same match can't be played from two places at once.
- Your choice in the cookie bar on meltingbrainstudios.com (Accept all or Only essential).
These are essential, so the game doesn't ask for them. You can clear them in your browser settings; you will then be signed out.
Instagram: meltingbrainstudios.com shows a picture of our latest Instagram post that links to Instagram. The live post is only loaded if you pick Accept all in the cookie bar; Instagram (Meta) may then set its own cookies, under Instagram's privacy policy. To change your choice, use Cookie settings at the bottom of meltingbrainstudios.com.
